Tattsyrup was formed by Dan, John & Brett in the dim and distant past. The band name (along with the precious things of the shop) was stolen from Edward & Tubbs Tattsyrup.
John then moved to Croydon and the band went into hibernation until we managed to entice him back to Ponty with photos of trees & hills. Joined by Rob, Pete & Chloe to complete a live line-up we started gigging in 2004. Following Chloe's departure and Jenny's arrival the additional arrival and departure of Rich E (trumpet) and Richie Keys) we are now a Skanking Sextet of Ska, with newest member Ben on drums and Rob's move to the frontline.
We can mostly be seen around the pubs and clubs of Skadiff & Pontypridd with a stomping mix of classic ska tunes and original material - we can regularly be found at the Kings Castle in Cardiff (see Upcoming Events). Highlights for the Tatts have included supporting The Specials' guitarist Roddy Radiation & the Skabilly rebels in Bristol, Calennig Celebrations, gigs at The Point and The Coal Exchange in Skadiff and many parties and summer festivals across Wales and the south west! |
