Sicknote Steve

After a lifetime of living the hobo life of an itinerant blues musician, Seasick Steve became an overnight sensation when he made his first UK television appearance on Jools Holland's Annual Hootenanny BBC TV show where he performed a live rendition of "Dog House Boogie" on his ancient battered three string guitar and an old box he kicked out a rhythm on and named the 'Mississippi Drum Machine.'

After that show his popularity exploded
, and as he explained in an interview "I can't believe it, all of the sudden I'm like the cat's miaow!"

Winning the 2007 MOJO Award for Best Breakthrough Act
, in 2007 he was invited to a number of the UK's premier festivals, including an outstanding set on the Glastonbury main stage, which resulted in his playing the most UK festivals of any band or artist in that year.

He has completed four UK tours so far
, his latest started with a sold out show at the Royal Albert Hall.

In 2009
, Steve was nominated for a Brit Award in the category of International Solo Male Artist, becoming the oldest ever BRIT nominee. That same year, BBC 4 broadcast a documentary of Steve visiting the southern USA entitled Seasick Steve: Bringing It All Back Home.

Sicknote Steve recreates the authentic sound of the original hobo bluesman. No technical trickery here -the authentic guitar paying skills and vocals of Sicknote Steve invoke the atmosphere of the Mississippi Delta as he slides and stomps his way through the Seasick songbook.

"As near as you can be to Seasick Steve without being Seasick Steve!"

"Everyone in the club was enthralled. They're asking when we're booking him again."

"Forget tribute act! This man is the real deal - a real musician. Don't miss Sicknote Steve if you get the chance."
