Talisman Sounds Open Mic Session - Beatles Special Edition at Varsity Roath 8pm Monday 30th November 2009
"It was twenty years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play" Well it was actually 40 years ago this month that the Beatles officially split up, and to mark the event Talisman Sounds will be holding the Talisman Sounds Open Mic Session - Beatles Special Edition at Varsity Roath Following on from the success of last month's Noon Song Contest when the Cotton Pickers impressed the judges with their rendition of Sittin' On Top Of The World, performers are invited to join in the challenge again - so anyone performing a Lennon and McCartney (or George or Ringo - but Yoko is banned!) song will be in with a shout of going home with the bottle of fizz. And to round off the evening, we'll be having a mass busk & singalong to some of the mop-top's finest: Hey Jude, Let It Be, I Saw Her Standing There. So click on the pdf files to download the songsheets and sing, play or clap along with the Talisman Sounds Lonely Hearts Club Band So remember - You're such a lovely audience |
| Update: It was 1960s flashback time at the Talisman Sounds Lonely Hearts Club Band Open Mic. Varsity favourites Steve and Pete Hughes warmed up the coldest Monday night since the last cold Monday while Stewart Alexander sponsored by Strepsils was in fine voice.
